#Note/Hub #Habit/Formation
### Introduction
Welcome to the central node of my personal habit tracker, a dedicated space where I monitor and reflect on the habits I'm cultivating. This hub note serves as the command center for my habit formation journey. It's a private repository, meaning the details and data contained within are for my eyes only, ensuring a candid and uninhibited self-assessment. However, the essence of what I'm cultivating and the insights gained are shared openly. The goal is to inspire and perhaps offer strategies that might resonate with you.

### Tracking Methodology
For each habit, I maintain a daily log in my diary of whether I've met my criteria for success. I also note any relevant observations or feelings associated with the habit's practice, which can provide insights into patterns and triggers.
### Tools for Tracking
In the realm of habit tracking, I employ a blend of powerful tools to visualize my progress and maintain an organized system. Here's a breakdown of the toolkit that powers my habit tracker:
- **[Dataview](https://github.com/blacksmithgu/obsidian-dataview)**: This plugin is instrumental in querying and aggregating my habit data. It sifts through my daily entries, extracting relevant metadata to provide me with insightful overviews and detailed analyses of my habits.
- **[Heatmap Calendar](https://github.com/Richardsl/heatmap-calendar-obsidian)**: For a visual representation of my consistency, I turn to the Heatmap Calendar. It transforms my habit data into an intuitive heatmap, offering a color-coded view of my daily practices at a glance.
- **[Obsidian Daily Notes](https://help.obsidian.md/Plugins/Daily+notes)**: The backbone of my data collection, Daily Notes serve as the repository where each day's habits are recorded. Leveraging metadata within these files allows for seamless integration with my querying tools.
- **[Diary Template](https://help.obsidian.md/Plugins/Templates)**: To streamline my daily logging, I've crafted a diary template complete with predefined habit metadata fields. This ensures that every new daily note starts with the structure necessary for efficient tracking.
For those interested in replicating or adapting my system, I've included the habit tracker code that ties all these components together in Appendix A. These code snippets are ready to be integrated into your own Obsidian setup, allowing you to hit the ground running with minimal setup.

### Review and Adaptation
I conduct weekly and monthly reviews of my habit tracker to evaluate my consistency and the effectiveness of each habit. These reviews are crucial for recognizing achievements, understanding challenges, and making informed decisions about continuing, modifying, or possibly discontinuing a habit.
